Having grown up the son of a preacher, Dr. Dorsey spent a large portion of his childhood helping others in need. Assisting others not only helped build trust within the community, but helped him learn about honesty, integrity and respect. Now that he’s a general surgeon with Fauquier Health, Dr. Dorsey is passionate about helping local patients and building trust with the Warrenton community. Offering a full spectrum of general surgical procedures, Dr. Dorsey specializes in endoscopic, laparoscopic, breast, endocrine and trauma surgery; procedures to treat rectal and colorectal disease; dialysis access; and acute critical care.

Education and Training
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 2007, Dr. Dorsey completed the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine General Surgery Internship and Residency Program, where he also served as Chief Resident.
Honors and Awards
Among his many academic honors, Dr. Dorsey received the Crimson Apple Excellence in Teaching Award from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine Department of Surgery, and graduated cum laude from his undergraduate program of study at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Dorsey is also a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Dorsey conducted a variety of research projects during his medical training, including topics related to rectal cancer, endoscopic surgery, obesity and percutaneous endoscopic gastronomy (PEG) tube placement, graves disease and carcinoma, and the contribution of leaf surface fungi to air spora.
Dr. Dorsey joined Fauquier Health as a private practice physician with Fauquier Health General Surgery in 2012, right after completing his residency program.
